Here is an except from my interview with Bill Einreinhofer about how to fund your dream documentary. I needed to know how an effective documentarian gets money for his/her productions. I figured others may want to know as well so I ask Costs, who has an excellent track record, to share some of his tricks. Expense is a National Emmy-Award winning producer, writer and director with over 20 years of television production experience. He shared a great deal of beneficial suggestions about how to raise money to produce a documentary. In this excerpt, he talks about how to approach possible funders.



Well, this gnawing sense of responsibility eventually got to me and that's when I decided to start a fundraising job with the aim of being able to money the structure of water filtering systems in Kenya, Africa. In this manner, they would not need to be controlled by these MNCs and they could easily get safe, clean, drinking water from their rivers.

So why does the state and county want higher quotes? After a sale is total the high bidder is charged the quantity they bid (other than the bank can use credit for this quantity based upon their final judgment), plus cost of the sale, documentary stamps, and, in many counties, registry costs for the county holding the cash. The greater the quote, the greater the cost for the documentary stamps and, when relevant, the greater the windows registry fees. So the greater the quote, the more taxes gathered by the state and frequently the county. That is quite a good factor for the County and State to want higher quotes.

This episode about the buzzards you had to see to think, I saw this, this actually taken place as best I can describe it. I would discuss Fred's on the weekends and we would go out in the woods.
